After hearing a lot of buzz about Vapage online, I decided to give their e-cigs a try. I ordered the Vapage Premium Kit and I was overall very impressed with what this brand delivered. The kit came in a nice metal case with all the ingredients listed on the back cover. It also clearly noted that the Vapage e-cig was designed in California and manufactured in China. The package had a QR code that took you straight to the Vapage website, which I thought was pretty handy. Inside my kit, I found the following components included:
- 3 batteries (2 white, 1 black)
- 10 cartridges (5 Classic Tobacco, 5 Red Tobacco)
- USB charger
- Wall charger
- Car adapter
- User Manual
- Warranty Registration Card
I liked that the kit included two different battery designs. The white batteries have an orange tip and the black batteries have a blue tip. It’s nice to have the option to change those out for different looks. The cartridges that came in the kit were all gray and while they looked okay with the white battery, I didn’t like the look when paired with the black battery.
For my first test, I used the 18mg tobacco cartridge. It had a nice easy draw, but it took a lot of priming to get it going. The Vapage definitely requires a little knowledge of how e-cigs work to get the most functionality. If you want good consistent vapor, you have to take a slow draw as you expand your cheeks then inhale. You can’t take a typical drag like you would with an analog cigarette or it just won’t work properly. Because technique is so vital to get the most from Vapage, this one might not be the best choice for a brand new e-cig user.
The classic tobacco flavor itself wasn’t the best. It was very light and reminded me of smoking ultra light Marlboros or even the old style charcoal filter cigarettes. The good news is that it did have a nice throat hit even if the flavor was a little disappointing. I tried several other flavors too just to get a better look at what Vapage offers. While the cartridges in my kit were gray, the additional ones I ordered were tan colored. They looked much nicer with my batteries so I was happy that the gray is apparently just for starter kit cartridges.
As a quick overview of the flavors I tried, the first was Blue Frost. This was a minty option that had a really strong throat hit. It reminded me of a smoking a Marlboro Menthol cigarette and it had a nice satisfying vapor production. I also tried Coffee flavor in 8 mg. The vapor was a little less than the other flavors, but I liked the milder throat hit that the lower nicotine content provided. For some adventure, I tried the Pina Colada 24mg. This one smelled like pineapple as soon as the package opened and I loved it! It would be perfect on a hot day at the beach or while you were kicked back with a cocktail. The last flavor I tried was Cherry. It was one of the best cherry flavors I’ve tried and it reminded me of a red jolly rancher. It wasn’t medicinal like many cherry flavors and it had a strong consistent vapor, which was nice.
Overall, I think Vapage is a good brand with above average products. The only downside is that it takes a little time to learn to use it properly. The price for my kit was a little high for what was included at $100, but overall, I enjoyed Vapage and will definitely use it again.
