This week, I had a chance to try two brand new kits: the iGo3 and the iGo4. Both are produced by the same brand, but each offers a slightly different experience. So which one was my favorite? Did I like either of them enough to use on a regular basis? Keep reading to find out…
My iGo3 Review
The first kit I tried was the iGo3 Standard. You can get the iGo3 in either a Standard Kit or Express Kit. They are basically the same except the Standard Kit includes two of everything (except the charger and base). The Express Kit has 1 battery, 1 clearomizer, a usb/wall charger with base, and 1 bottle of e-liquid. The Standard Kit has 2 batteries, 2 clearomizers, 2 bottles of e-liquid, and the same usb/wall charger and base. The standard kit is definitely the better deal because you get twice the goods at just $75.00 compared to the $50 price tag for the express kit.
No matter which kit you choose, you can customize it by picking your battery color (black or steel) and your clearomizer colors. They currently offer 7 color choices: clear, black, blue, green, red, yellow, or purple. You can also decide what kind of e-liquid you want. Nicotine strengths range from no nicotine to 36mg and there are 40 (yes FORTY!) flavors to choose from.
My first impression of the iGo3 was good. This is a more high tech e-cig than I’m used to, but I really liked it. The smart battery is made with display lights to show you how much battery charge you have left. The color changes from green to yellow to red as your battery power decreases. At a full charge, the battery should last 800 puffs.
The charger was also really neat. It uses “touch” technology so you basically plug in your charging base and then set it up somewhere convenient. When you need to charge your iGo3, just sit it down on the base and it will automatically charge. You don’t have to take it apart or plug in the battery.
Beyond the design, the iGo3 was a solid tank system with good vapor production and a nice throat hit. While it wasn’t really that different from other systems I’ve tried, there wasn’t anything negative about it so I thought it was a good choice for the price.
My iGo4 Review
Now I know I told you the iGo3 is just average, but that is definitely not the case with the iGo4. To put it bluntly, I LOVED this tank system. It’s a keeper in my book and I would highly recommend it if you’re in the market for a new ego kit.
Just like the iGo3, you can get the 4th generation version in either an Express Kit or a Standard Kit. The Express Kit includes a high capacity battery, 1 clearomizer (choose from 2.5ml or 1.6ml), the usb/wall charger and touch charging base, and a bottle of e-liquid. The standard kit is the same, but you get two batteries, two clearomizers, and two bottles of e-liquid with your charging supplies. Both kits are reasonably priced with the Express Kit at $55 and the Standard Kit at $85.
After doing a side-by-side comparison, I’d say a lot changed from the iGo3 to the iGo4. The iGo4 gives you the option of a bigger 2.5ml tank so you can hold more e-liquid to avoid refilling so frequently. It also has a better battery that lasts for 1000 puffs instead of 800. The new iGo4 batteries have a new LED display that gives you all the specifics about your battery usage so it’s the coolest techy e-cig I’ve ever seen.
If you are not familiar with tank systems, the iGo4 is a great option because it is really easy to refill. You don’t need any syringes or special tools. It literally took me like five seconds to refill my tank. I also loved the iGo4 because the vapor production is top of the line. This is not a low end ego system. In fact, the vapor was better than about any ego system I’ve tried in the past.
Plus, you get the benefits of the convenient touch charging base. It charges really quickly so it takes a lot of the hassle out of stopping to wait while your e-cig charges. Another thing I loved about the iGo4 was the flavor options. There were 40 flavors to choose from including 9 different versions of tobacco and 3 different menthol varieties. Then you have the 9 fruit flavors and 4 fusion flavors. And if you still haven’t found a favorite, there are 14 drink and dessert flavors. The iGo4 e-liquids include everything from clove to pina colada, to Red Bull to Pumpkin Pie.
Ultimately, the iGo3 is a decent tank system, but the iGo4 is extraordinary. If you want a good quality ego e-cig kit, go with the iGo4. You won’t be disappointed.
